Silicone-based Dressing Aid (Lube). Lubrication is mandatory for tight-fitting latex. The lube drastically reduces friction, allows the material to glide smoothly over curves and joints, and is crucial for preventing seam stress and tearing, especially in the hips and bust areas.
Fingernail or jewelry tears. Latex is easily punctured or ripped by sharp points. You must ensure your fingernails are smooth and you should wear soft cotton gloves when dressing. Always use the flat, soft pad of your fingers to pull the garment, avoiding pulling the thin edges or seams with your nails.
Immediate, thorough rinsing and a complete dry before storage. Hand wash immediately after wear in lukewarm water using a mild, unfragranced soap or latex cleaner. The item must be completely rinsed to remove all traces of body oils, sweat, and cleaner residue, and then 100% dried (inside and out) before being put away.
Avoid Light, Oil, and Metal Contact. Store latex items powdered or polished and completely dry in individual, opaque garment bags or boxes. Keep them away from direct sunlight (UV), heat, oil-based products (including certain lotions and perfumes), and any metal hardware that can cause irreversible staining.
