FAQs

Why are gloves and stockings considered the most "fragile" latex accessories?

Fingernails and high tension. Gloves and stockings are usually made of thinner latex ($0.25mm$ - $0.4mm$) and require significant stretching. Fingernails are the #1 killer of these items. Always wear cotton gloves when putting on stockings, and use only the pads of your fingers (never the tips/nails) to adjust gloves.

How should I care for accessories with metal hardware (buckles, eyelets, or studs)?

Immediate isolation. Metal (especially copper or nickel) causes "bronzing"—permanent brown/black stains on latex. When storing belts, collars, or corsets, you must wrap the metal parts in acid-free tissue paper or plastic film to prevent them from touching the latex surface during storage.

What is the best way to clean and dry small, hollow items like hoods or socks?

Thorough inside-out drying. Water trapped inside a hood or a sock can cause mold or the latex to stick together ("rot"). After washing, pat the outside dry, then turn the item inside out to dry the interior completely. Using a specialized drying rack or stuffing them lightly with acid-free paper can help maintain the shape.

Can I store all my accessories (gloves, socks, masks) together in one bag?

No, separate them by color and type. Storing a red glove with a white mask will likely lead to color migration (staining). Store each pair or item in its own individual, opaque, zip-lock bag with a light dusting of talcum powder to prevent them from bonding to each other.
